IGEM 2010, 14 – 17, October, 2010

IGEM2010

Asia, today, is the world’s largest manufacturing hub and is emerging as the new nexus of potent force in promoting eco-products and green technologies. Against a backdrop of increasing consumer awareness concerning global climate change and demand for green products, many businesses are Going Green.

The United Nations, European Union, North America and countries such as Japan and Korea have enacted legislations and regulations to support green purchasing. These countries are also the world’s largest consumers of goods and services, and their consumption preference will severely impact on the way that goods are manufactured in Asia.

In realization of this new trend, Asia is also in the race to produce low carbon green technology and eco-products. Products such as paper, office supplies, motor cars, office automation equipment (computers, printers etc.), furniture, clothing, food, lighting equipment and household appliances; as well as services including banking, construction, cleaning, printing, hotels, transportation and electricity supply are currently being subjected to green procurement by the government.

The Malaysian Government has taken proactive action to establish the new Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water to help spur industries and institutions to be eco-technological innovators in the field of eco-design, eco-materials, eco-products and services, as well as low carbon Green Technologies.

IGEM2010 incorporating ECOEX aims to provide an essential platform to feature innovative eco-products, green technologies and services. It is a prestigious venue where green product buyers and sellers meet and conduct transactions.

Cosmobeaute 2010

Following an extensive research on the beauty industry in Southeast Asia, it was brought to light that the majority of beauty shows in the region were B2C oriented (Business t COnsumer – where the products and services exhibited were targeted at the public) and not B2B (Business to Business – where exhibitors cater specifically to the beauty professionals in the industry such as salon and spa owners, beauty academy students and potential investors in the beauty trade).

ECMI Trade Fairs SEA thus conceptualised and launched Cosmobeauté, a very first beauty trade exhibition in Southeast Asia that caters to beauty professionals such as importers, distributors, professional beauticians, spa therapists, etc.

There have been similar international beauty shows organised in Europe and independent shows in Asia but to date, there was no one show that aimed at a regional platform for the Southeast Asia market.

The project team behind the flagship CosmoBeauté series of events has extensive knowledge of the beauty, spa and wellness industry. With a combined experience of more than 50 years in organizing international trade shows. ECMI organizes CosmoBeauté Asia in Kuala Lumpur, CosmoBeauté Indonesia in Jakarta and CosmoBeauté Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh annually. It is the only event organizer in the region to bring such a premier trade event in South East Asia.

The mission of CosmoBeauté series events is to bridge exhibitors with up and coming markets in South East Asia for cosmetics, beauty, spa & wellness equipment and products.
